Looking for Sleep Apnea conventions
Looking for Sleep Apnea conventions
I am new to the whole sleep apnea world and want to find out as much as possible to try and help educate myself. I am wondering if there are any coventions that go around with vendors and such. I am in the Seattle Washington area
Click on the yellow lightbulb (icon) near the top of the page and start reading.
You'll probably learn more on this forum than at any convention.

Just think. If we had a sleep apnea convention:
*Costume night – Birdshell’s dream come true
*The Insomnia Hospitality Room – open all night!
*The Panty Hose Booth – staffed by Rested Gal
*Game room – Play piñata using a DME effigy for the piñata. Play darts using a DME dart board. Bowl using DME bowling pins. Dunking booth featuring DME owners.
*Fascinating workshops on topics such as The Venturi Effect, Transient Surface Deflective Issues, Waveforms and Local Eddies, presented by SnoreDog, SWS, SAG, and DreamStalker.
*Day long plenary session on essential oils. Speakers too numerous to list on program.
*Workshop on the life-threatening dangers of mouth taping.
*Workshop on the life-saving benefits of mouth taping.
*Musical entertainment provided by the CPAPer hose ensemble.
*The Mask Modification Booth – staffed by Rested Gal
*Open bar serving Melatonin cocktails
The possibilities are endless.
Janna
P.S. gtshipp -- I am not making fun of your question. It just made me smile when I imagined the many good people from this forum together at a convention. I do believe Wulfman is right -- you can probably get virtually all your questions answered at this site. Welcome.

Thanks for posting a much wittier reply thank I could think of, JZ!
Hey, Sleepless in Seattle, aka gtshipp, I'm in the Tacoma area. There are some AWAKE support groups listed in your vicinity here:
http://www.sleepapnea.org/cgi-bin/database.pl?WA&&State
Okay, I lied. Nothing listed for Seattle. Sedro-Wooley, anyone?
There's a very nice lady named Sleepy Sandy here from Seattle who told me wonderful things about Swedish Hospitals sleep clinic. You might call over there and see if they have any support groups or events.
And just hang out here. You did good to find the board. Lots of good info here.
Good luck!
