Selling My Remstar Auto C-Flex Apap Machine

Post by JayPSU » Tue May 01, 2007 8:15 am

In the last month I had another sleep study done after I started feeling like I did prior to cpap use. After that study, my doctor has determined that I need to go on a bipap machine. So, I'm looking to sell my Remstar Auto-Cpap machine with Cflex as I will not be needing it anymore. I WILL, however, be keeping the humidifier and just using that with the new bipap machine. It's about 7 months old now and has 2800 minutes of use, so still very new. I will be taking offers for the next 5-7 days as I cannot take payment until my new machine is actually given to me from the DME later this week! The machine will simply go to the highest bidder who is the least shifty sounding

Hummm....hard to believe that machine doesn't work for you given all it's settings/flexibility.

I just slept with mine for the first time last night and I've never felt better....I certainly love mine!

My doctor told me that my new sleep study/titration had me with an incoming pressure of 21, and out going of 14, so I need a bipap to do that.

Well, I'm new to all this and no expert, but I thought the REMstar Auto is a bi-pap of sorts (provides exhalation relief). I guess the bi-pap has a lot larger level of exhalation relief, more that C-Flex can provide. Right? That's a huge range they've prescribed for you!

I'm not a doctor, but I think I'd be asking for the Respironics BiPAP Auto with Bi-flex...just in case I didn't really need that hurricane force "21" coming at me all night. Might be that less IPAP was actually needed most of the night, and the 21 would be used only occasionally.

My DME actually got me an Auto-bipap (same model as my auto-cpap only the bipap version) without me even having to ask for it. My DME is really amazing as I've heard horror stories elsewhere!

I've had some offers and am getting close to wrapping this up and accepting one. I should tell you guys making some VERY low bids ($100), I bought this machine for $600 just 8 months ago. Lets keep bids within the realm of reality!

Unfortunately there are some great values online right now for new machines w/humidifiers so that is probably hurting your bids. Have you considered just keeping this as a back up in case something happens to yours? I am getting an entire separate system for myself as a back up and to take on trips.

Just three months ago a brand new, in the box, complete (including BOTH manuals), everything but the software, reader and mask, RemStar Auto w/C-Flex ("tank") could be purchased online for $450 plus $25 shipping at yahooauctions on a pretty regular basis. I haven't checked lately since I no longer have any need.

Jay,

Either you're selling it to the highest bid or you're not. If the highest bid is $100, are you going to honor the sale?

Remember that everyone on this board already has a machine...yours would either be an upgrade or a spare. In a "blind" auction, a person is likely to bid only as much as the item is worth to them, or the maximum they can afford for it.

Cathy - who's a little offended on behalf of the $100 bidders out there.

That may be why he is not selling it on Yahoo Auctions.

Since I already have one, I would only be willing to pay about say ... umm errr ... $101 for it ... dunno if I would be the highest bidder though since I do not have access to what others are bidding.

Wait wait! ... I'd like to up that bid to $102 if it includes shipping ...

I didn't think I could sell it on yahoo/ebay because it's medical equipment. Maybe I'll try there, although I did get 2 respectable offers this morning, relatively. But $100 isn't going to happen. I'd rather keep it as a backup than do that.

I did bid $102 ... are you trying to say I sound more "shifty" than anyone else? ... or just that I am not "respectable"?

I'll have you know that I have honored and followed thru on every bid I have ever made ... here or anywhere else. I may not always be respectable.
