I currently have my Resmed Elite that my insurance is renting for a couple of months before purchasing it outright I guess. Anyway, I am trying to get my info and facts together because I would like to purchase a second machine myself. For a couple of reasons, one is that I would like a second one to travel with and I really want a back up in case something were to happen to mine in the middle of the night. I know that may be paranoid but that is me.
I am trying to find the best price package I can find for both the cpap machine and humidifier. I would also like to have software to work with it but I am hearing that most people have pulled their software.
So if you were going to buy a nice little setup, what would it be?
In case it matters my pressure is 10.
Thanks in advance!
I am planning to purchase new machine - need input
I love my setup. I have the remstar auto with c-flex, HH, software and card reader. I use the auto on cpap most of the time. It is nice to have the choice of auto or cpap. For a backup and travel I got the Aura Polaris TR. It will run on battery or reg power. It has a HH, but it drains the battery quickly. I get 6 hrs with the HH on 3 and pressure of 9. It has no data but it's just for power outages and travel so it works for me. Got it at Cpap.com.

As I under stand it, c-flex is a momentary decrease in pressure on exhale. EPR keeps the lower pressure for more of the exhale. If there are other differences someone will jump in shortly to let you know.
If you order from cpap.com even if your script says cpap you can get an apap. If it has no pressure stated it will come set 4-20. If there is a pressure on the script, it will be set to that pressure. BUT, you get ALL the paperwork including the top secret provider manual with all the secret codes for changing the settings

Your Second Machine
It would be my opinion that you purchase a CPAP without any extra bells and whistles for your second machine. From my experience dealing with Resmed, Respironics, Fisher Paykel and Puritan Bennett I would suggest the Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420G. It is a great machine to use for traveling especially since the heated humidifier can be left behind and the remaining CPAP is so small and can fit into a suitcase without taking up any room. In addition, you would be hard pressed to find any machine at it's price that would serve better as a second machine. My company sleeprestfully.com currently has the 420G for $250 and for $395 inluding the heated humidifier. Check out our details on this machine and decide for yourself.
