Hello again :) Question about data and mask

Post by cheeks » Sat Apr 28, 2007 9:05 pm

Hello everybody

I recently started cpap therapy and so far am pretty okay with looking ugly with it. Its annoying not to be able to read a bit or watch tv * glasses and mask not cooperating *grin* I guess I am worried about being non-compliant, it seems every night I fall asleep...at some point I rip the whole thing off my face in my sleep! When thinking about it ..the only thing I can come up is that I like to turn onto my stomach at varies times and the mask is very uncomfortable then, like impossible. Are there any full face masks that are easier to deal with for tummy sleeping? Or any pointers that might help? I would hate to think that tummy sleeping is not the reason, lord knows it occurred to me that perhaps I am ripping it off the mask to talk to someone lol

Is this something that will be accurately recorded on that data (memory) card in the Cpap machine? So, my doctor will know I am using it! I dont want him to think that I am not using it every night...I am and its not so bad....hehe just dont want to be held accountable for what I do in my sleep. The idea of that gives me the shivers.

Thanks again for being here,

Cheeks

May look into Hybrid mask for reading ... tummy sleeping ?

Your "plus" machine provies no useful data ... only compliance which you can get from a watch, pencil, and paper.

I'm assuming you have mouth leaks (reason for Hybrid suggestion) ... if no mouth leaks there are more options with nasal pillow interfaces.

No dont think the mask leaks at all. Just not comfortable while trying to sleep on stomach or least something near it.
Yeah, dont want to try that nasal anything, although the suggestion is appreciated...the pillow part sounds especially nice. I am a mouth breather completely and dont think I could get used to that.
