Over the past week, I have noticed an annoying whirring noise eminating from my flow generator. This is in contrast to the usually silent Respironics machine. It's not all that lound, but sounds loud when the TV is off and there is no other noise in the room. ALso I have noticed that the top of the unit is getting warm (I never noticed it beofre this noise occurred, but it was not like I was checking either). Any ideas? SO, I am on my back up Invacare machine which is quite loud in comparison to the Respironics....would love to make sure the Respironics is OK before I try to use it again. ANyone ever had the same noises happening?

odd's are it's ok. The filters being dirty will make the machine work harder and be louder, it will also cause the machine to feel warmer and the output will warm up.
It pays to have something in the room running for background noise, it play a nature tape all night, you can get sound generators too. I used to use the T.V., but I would wake up on the hour when the shows would change.
You will always get some heat from the electronics, as the circuits are in standby and lights are on, no it is not better to pull the power all the time, ask ResMed. Jim
