ComfortGel Nasal Mask

Post by Kazoo » Fri Apr 27, 2007 10:40 am

Just received a new ComfortGel Nasal Mask from cpap.com. Came in two days. Amazing! Have been with this mask from the beginning. Like other members on this board, I have been all around the place trying new masks. This is still the best one for me. (seem to have a strange nose.) I really only needed parts, but added them up and just bought the whole mask. What I am the most happy with is the new head gear. Much wider and doesn't tangle. I also ordered a Presure Line Adaptor to have on hand. Last surgery I had they used my Bi-pap and mask. They tried to put an oxygen hose under the mask. I figure everyone should have one of these adaptors on hand. I always enjoy reading this board. For sure this therapy is a life changing experience. Keep posting. Ron

Hi Ron,

What is this? Does it allow the hospital oxygen line to enter your PAP hose?

Thanks,
Cathy

I too find this mask works good for me, many don't. For me it's great right out of the box. On you O2 adapter, make sure it acts as a check valve, (Does not allow the O2 to back up into the XPAP, if the XPAP is off.) I need to be that way for safety. Jim

02 adapter

Good point about the 02 adapter. Looks like I have things to learn about it. Hadn't thought about a check valve. Need to talk to a friend who uses 02 with her cpap. Thanks. Ron

Some but not all have the check valve built in, The one that had it came from Lincare, when I had my compressor unit, I didn't think when I had my implant, the hospital used one with no check valve in the OR. Now I have both. Jim
