Je parle français et utilise un CPAP depuis 3 ans.
Au plaisir,
François
Est-ce que quelqu`un parle en français ?????
dianequebec is going to try to be in the chat room at 8pm tonight (I assume all of Quebec is in eastern time zone?). Some of us in the chat room have been attempting to assist her with her questions about her HC234 cpap machine, full face mask and cpap treatment, but the language barrier has been challenging.
If any of you French speakers are available at 8pm tonight, please stop by the chat room.

If "DianeQuebec" needs the instructions for making setting changes on the HC234, they're listed below.......but I sure can't help you with the translation.
Je ne parle pas la langue française.
Bons souhaits, ("Good wishes".....hope all that translated correctly)
Den
- Turn on the HC234.
- Enter programming mode by holding down the "RAMP" (top) button and the "Next" (Right arrow/bottom button) for three seconds.
- The first screen will allow you to set adjust altitude, which is indicated by a drawing of a mountain range on the screen. You can change this to "m" for meters or "ft" for feet by pressing the Up or Down keys. Press the Right Arrow key to allow changing the altitude setting.
- Press the "NEXT" (Right arrow/bottom button) to advance to pressure setting which will be indicated by the characters "cm h20 " on the screen. Use the Up and Down keys to change the pressure setting.
- Lastly, push that bottom button again to exit programming mode.

One of the many wonderful things about the message board and chat room is the opportunity to dialogue with people from around the world. I did not make it into the chat room Thursday night unitl after 8pm Central. DianeQuebec was there at that time and told me no French speakers had been there. She did get the link to the H200 series machine in various languages that zzzzzz!! posted. She had also been to her DME and gotten a new mask. I can't speak for her on how she is doing, but she is a sweet lady, and I hope she is getting her questions answered.
By the way, DianeQuebec tipped me off to a cool language translator website, http://www.reverso.net. You type in what you want to say in your language, hit the translation button for the language you want, and you get an almost instant translation. I tested it by entering several sentences of general conversation, translating into French, then copying the translation into my chat room message. I don't know how good the translations were, but good enough that Diane understood them. I doubt it would work well for discussion of a technical nature.
We have had some Keystone cops moments while attempting to assist Diane. She asked what the image of a "montain" on her cpap screen was. We were asking, do you mean "mountain," "is it a mountain,", then several people were almost simultaneously responding, "maybe it is the ramp button," "could be the ramp," "do you think it is the ramp," "bet it is the ramp," etc., while Diane was struggling to get our attention with, "ramp, what is that?" I found later when looking at the HC234 machine at cpap.com the mountain symbol is an altitude adjustment.
Never a dull moment.
