New VPAP machine called the Malibu which it says comebines all the features of the VPAP III and the Adapt SV
Gary
Another new Resmed product
Thanks for the heads up (hadn't heard of it before - but a quick scan of Govt approvals showed it got submitted in 2006 ?)

#3 the actual application = http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/pdf6/K062291.pdf
The Resmed web page ...

1st thing I notice is that it has no external pressure line like the Vpap AdapSV (or AutosetCS2). That suggests it is a lower cost in-between model. Possibly it is a VPAP III with the new dual-impeller blower & some added software.
At 1st guess I would call it an evolutionary product rather than revolutionary (which the Vpap Adapt SV was).

Well it *is* an auto adjusting Bilevel - so welcome to the party Resmed - the Bipap Auto has been celebrating for quite a while already

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)
The significant aspect of this that I see is the Pressure Support.
It differs from the Bipap Auto in that it allows the clinician to set a pressure support gap. e.g. 4 cms, then the machine will do its auto trick through the night but will maintain that pressure support gap.
The Bipap Auto adjusts ipap & epap independantly & the gap can vary from 2 cms to PSmax which can go to a max 8 cms (allowing for what epap and ipap are at any give point).
So here are 2 different approaches & thus a choice.
I am betting the cost will be slightly lower than VPAP III S & a little above Autoset Vantage (merely a guess).
Reason I go for that particular guess is that here in Australia the VPAP III S/T costs more than a Vpap AdaptSV.
