Comfort select mask - supposed to leak around the hose?

I just received a remstar M plus from my DME as a rental. They gave me the resmed comfort select mask. I am on my second night, and am starting to feel better. However, is the mask supposed to leak around the hose swivel? I know it is supposed to leak around the 90 degree connector that connects the hose to the mask - but it sure seems like it is leaking a lot around the hose fitting (the one closest to where the hose connects to).

Also - since I have the plus version of the remstar M, can I add the card reader module to it? If I do, all I need is the software, correct? I have a smart card reader built into my laptop - can I use that to read the smart cards - or do I need to purchase their proprietary reader?

If you have the same mask I originally got then yes it should or we both have defective masks!

Mine, a comfort classic, leaks in the same area but I belive it is designed that way.

Oh yes sorry!

I should've chosen my words more carefuly, it's not a leak for sure. I believe it's the exhaust design!

It also isn't a ResMed mask. The leak is supposed to be there, it's kind of a poor design, it can blow in your face off covers. Jim

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, sorry its respironics.

Anyhow, I'm not too sure I like it. The top of the mask puts a lot of pressure on the bridge of my nose. I was thinking of trying a comfort curve mask from them, and see how well that would work.
