Selling masks?

Post by stark23x » Mon Apr 09, 2007 2:11 pm

I've been extremely frustrated trying to find teh right mask setup...because of that I have a nice collection now. Can these be sold anywhere? Obviously I'd wash them as would the buyer. Is there a market for this? I just paid full price for a hybrid and can't STAND it. It's been used for a single solitary night and it seems like too much money to just throw it away. I also have a Comfortfull 2 that I'll never use.

Does anyone ebay these things used?

Masks, used and new, are sold on eBay. Never bought one there, but have looked at them.

I have traded and sold a few masks on here. Just post what you would like to sell/trade and what you would accept in exchange.

eBay considers these a medical device and won't let you sell them. Some of the auctions do go through, but typically your auction will be canceled. You can try selling them here or on Yahoo's auction site.

No, eBay allowed all masks and peripherals to be sold and bid

Just keyin CPAP mask and you get around 100s

What's not allowed are CPAP machine.

When I had tried to sell a mask, they ended the auction. I contacted them for clarification as to why the auction was ended and they said that it was considered an "accessory" to the machine. I'm sure a lot of auctions do slip by though.

I listed a 10' hose on ebay, and they yanked it 3 times. But I used to buy or sell NasalAire nasal prongs several times. Go figure.

One thing I have learned over the years, never try to make sense of eBay. They are after onlyh one thing and that is profits for the stockholders, evidensed by the constant fee hikes in spite of record profits. But when one thinks they have them figured out, surprise!

I have sold several masks on ebay, you need to over exaggerate things like...

This mask should only be sold to people who have been prescribed CPAP therapy

In my case ebay UK let you sell medical equipment to the UK only, so I bet it's the same in the US... so a little of this also helps:

Only for sale to bidders in the US

AND FINALLY - this never fails...

Thanks to ebay for clarification and information on selling CPAP masks

They pulled a few auctions of mine a few times until I started doing this. I think they probably have one person who checks auctions or something lol so make your auction really obvious.

EBAY

I read thru their info regarding sales of medical equipment. It only implies you can NOT sell anything that takes a prescription. As far as hoses, masks and filters right now there are hundreds of active auctions so maybe Ebay has started following their own policy.
The problem I do see is as in any of the auctions folks bid the prices up so close to new that a person (at least me) would feel better paying the difference and just buy from cpap.com or someone like..

I just managed to get a Hybrid for $50 at e-Bay

I lose the bid the first time, since I can only afford $50 max - somehow the winner probably do not pay, and I got second offer

Glad to get this Hybrid.

My clumsy hands are no good in fitting those tiny pieces - so last night I did not managed to put it all together and almost cannot sleep..

Managed to get it done this morning and juts take a nap with it, same big leak as Swift (around 50s L according to Encore pro) but quieter

Without even testing I started with the S size mouth piece and S size pilliow

I will keep the M size just in case, however it is obvious I dnot need the L sice mouthpiece and nose pillow

Anybody care to swap my L size mouthpiece and pillow with their S size?

PM me please
