Some Questions From A New User Some Questions PG.

Post by bakerboy » Sun Apr 01, 2007 2:28 pm

After several days I was able to stop the leaks in my mask, I found that I had to tighten the straps. A proper fitting mask seems to be the most Important process to achieve maxinum results.

Some questions from seasoned users.

I have started to dream again, Is this normal?

I think I am sleeping longer and better, but I still wake up and do not know how long I am awake, this is a strange feeling.

I do feel better, however I seem to require the same hours of sleep, does it take a while to catch up on lack of sleep from the past?

Does It help to curtail the drinking water later in the day to lessen trips to the bathroom at night?

How long does it take to feel normal with the machine and mask or does it ever. Are the benefits worth the efforts?

Most apnea sufferers do not get much if any REM sleep. This is where you have dreams. It seems that if you remember the dream you are being woken up during REM. Many pappers report more dreams when starting xpap, then a drop later, as they start to sleep thru REM as they should.
It does take time for your body to adjust to all of this. Some adjust quickly some take much longer. Everyone is different, and everyone requires different amounts of sleep. There have been discussions about sleep debt that you can do a search for and read.
I found that after using xpap for a few nights my bathroom trips stopped. Give it more time and see.
It is reported to take a month or two to get used to the mask and machine. Some take less time some take more.
I think I am sleeping longer and better, but I still wake up and do not know how long I am awake, this is a strange feeling.
Not sure what you mean here.
