Back to How It Was Before CPAP

Post by OldHippie » Sat Mar 24, 2007 8:58 am

I have to work today but wanted to write a short post.

After several weeks of treatment, I was sleeping great and feeling even better. But for the past 2 weeks, I am back to how it was before CPAP...waking every hour with a full bladder and feeling like crap (forgive the last word but it is how I feel). I wear my mask every night all night.

I am frustrated beyond words and so tired I can't hardly keep my eyes open. It was wonderful feeling good after feeling bad for so long.

I DO have some severe financial and medical problems on my mind. But they were there before when I was sleeping good. Nothing has changed in that respect. They just are bothering me more because I am so very tired again.

Does this mean I will never feel good again?? Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal (whatever that is)?

God bless each of you,
Louise

Louise-I had a setback exactly like that last October. Still haven't figured out what caused it. Fortunate enough to be an RN and a friend of mine ordered me Provigil which I took for a month and then I was back to my post CPAP self. I hope preCPAP Barb NEVER appears again.

Just look back on the things you have done when you started feeling like a crap. Have you changed your eating habit? Is your mask getting old? Did you change any of your settings? Is it the weather or season?
A lot of things could changed the balance of your equilibrium and some of these things I mentioned could affect your sleep.
I have been going thru the same thing lately and when I downloaded the data in my card, I realized that I have a major leak. So, for me it was just a matter of changing the mask.

Louise,

Lots of "variables".
Could be, tweaking your pressure will help.....could be other health issues.

I know my AHI numbers seem to run a bit higher in the month of March.....last year, too. Must be a seasonal thing.

Unfortunately, you don't have a machine that'll give you any feedback.

I would try a 1 cm increase (at at time) for about a week and see if you feel any difference.

Best wishes,

Den

Any possibility it could be allergy related? I know that in Maryland the pollen has been out for the last 2 weeks.
