I am sooo frustrated. I have been using a cpap nasal mask for almost two years. It works well for me. However, my nose has been getting worse regarding stuffiness. So I just bought the Fisher and Paykel with the heated hose and a new FULL FACE mask. I thought I would just breathe through my mouth and all will be good. I am finding it hard to get used to the full face. I have not tried it more than about an hour. It will be hard to get used to, but I must do something at this point. I have a hose snuggler. So this morning I tried the new mask, not to sleep with but to just lie there to see how it feels. Well with the humidity set as high as it will go, I got rain out in the mask, and my mouth was a little dry as well. I know I must bite the bullet and try to make this work, but since I have OCD, I can easy lie there all night and obsess about how I am not sleeping.
I was thinking about buying the new mouth mask that fits in your mouth. Maybe less rain with that. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL!

No offense intended, really, but the only advice I can offer is that you change your font size to "normal". Probably get more help that way.

I'm not a Doctor, nor am I associated with the medical profession in any way. Any comments I make are just personal opinions. Take them or leave them. (justa don't gripe at me if ya donna like 'em!)

The large font makes it seem like your screaming. It also makes the post more difficult for some of us to read so we skip it. If you need the large font, you can set your computer so you get the large font but we get the normal one.

I can't believe what I am seeing! A well respected and long time member of this forum posts an appeal for help and all some of you can do is criticize the size of the font? That is unbelievably rude to me.

I wasn't trying to be rude or hurtfull. He asked a question and I answered. I find it difficult to read posts with such large type, so I usually skip them. I thought that by telling him this it would help. What does my font size have to do with the number of responses I get?

I wasn't trying to be rude, Gilda.............nor was I being critical. If you read my post, you'll note I clearly started my comment with "No offense meant, really.................................". I think the comment was neither rude nor critical. It was an honest comment and was intended to be helpful. I'm sorry if it offended you or Gary.mommaw wrote:I can't believe what I am seeing! Also, Gilda, if you'll note the number of posts under my username, you'll see I've also been on the forum quite a while now. And if you'll read some of my posts you'll find I'm not one to be intentionally abrasive or offensive.

I wouldn't worry about what font one uses ... or what spelling ... or trivial matters like that -- we are all different and the thing we all have in common is apnea and the desire to treat our condition as best we can.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Hey, everybody just calm down. I don't think anyone was trying to be rude or hurtful at all here. I too find really big fonts hard to read and usually pass them by. The responder is just saying, "if you use a smaller font you might get more responses and it's just easier for the rest of us to read". He even apologized if he offended anyone in a later response.
"Can't we all just get along?"

If I were you, I would work on treating the nasal stuffiness. I too have had great difficulty adjusting to a full face mask. I prefer to use a nasal pillow and I use the Swift.
Here are some of my thoughts regarding stuffed nasal passages:
1- What have you tried so far?
2- A decongestant (Sudafed) may help...people with high blood pressure
must consult their MD first.
3- A sinus rinse will help to keep nasal passages clean and free from
allergens
4- An antihistamine will help if the cause of your nasal stuffiness is allergy
related
5- A consultation with an allergist
6- a steroid nasal spray will help to shrink nasal passages
7- It has been my experience that too much humidity makes the nasal
stuffiness worse.
I wish you much good luck,
Barb

Hi Barb,
I have tried the saline which works some of the time. I use afrin almost every night now. I just spray once in the evening and NEVER during the day. I can't use the Sudafed because of my HBP. I just tried a full face last night. I had to put ear plugs in so I would not hear any mask noises. It tends to leak more than a nasal mask. I tolerated it well while I was breathing thru my nose. I took it off before breathing thru my mouth. I would have to raise the humidity on my FP heated hose for the mouth breathing. I don't even know if my mouth will dry out with it.
