Favorite Pur-sleep Scent?

Post by dieselgal » Sun Mar 18, 2007 9:35 am

Tell me, which essential oils do you like the best. So far clear is the one I have used and enjoy. I also have spice and creme but they are to heavy for me I think. I would be interested in ordering a couple of other scents that were lighter and would like to know what others find relaxing and maybe light and soft.

I have them all, and find I am using Paradise--I just find it the most relaxing. I also found the Creme too heavy. It smells lovely, but it's just too much in my mask....I also like Fresh--the new orangy one.

I just received Bret's latest two additions Creme (vanilla) and Fresh (tangerine-lime) the day before yesterday. I took a nap ysterday afternoon with the Fresh and it was like being in margaritaville. It was great! I may try the Creme this afternoon.

Except for the Clear (peppermint) I have not had a positive experience with the other 4 as I found them much too strong. However, I think I have a very very sensitive nose. In other words, I think the scents are much like CPAP masks -- it will be different for each individual.

I think the key to success is to provide as much variety in scents as possible.

Hmmm ...
Put da lime in da coconut put them both together
Put da lime in da coconut make you fell better
Put da lime in da coconut makes it smell good
Put da lime in da coconut makes me feel good
Put da lime in da coconut mix them both up
Put da lime in da coocnut sleep until da morning
I say woo woo woo ... I say ya ya ya

The tangerene (fresh) is pretty hard to beat.

But that "lime in the coconut"...now, I'd buy that!!

My favorite is the "Peace" scent which is mostly lavender I think.
One drop of "Peace" with one drop of "Clear" works for me.

DreamStalker, now that's a CLASSIC!

I love it!!! ROFL! Too bad there's not a coconut essential oil to be had!

Lately I've been using a few drops of Fresh (tangerine) and one drop of vanilla (Creme) and WOW! I think that's my current favorite. A drop of Creme is also very good with the peppermint in Clear, too--outstanding in my nose anyway. MMmmmmmm. A drop of vanilla is also very good with ylang ylang (paradise). But you're right--that vanilla is very strong. Try using a micro drop with a toothpick--it's an outstanding vanilla but it's easy to get too much.

Deep is the first one I developed and it's not one I use anymore right now (kinda burned out on it and my wife doesn't like it). It's one that people seem either to really like (my brother's favorite)--or not.

When I want some really, really good sleep and want to wake up feeling great, I use Comfort. The combination of sweet marjoram and lavender, for me, seems to have outstanding therapeutic value. I feel great whenever I use it. I love that one.

Rosa is very nice. It is great for a change, though--just a drop or two is all you need.

The French lavender 40/42 in Peace is fantastic but for some reason I don't tend to sleep well with that blend (personally). Last time I used it I loved the aroma (very relaxing) but kept waking up--did not sleep well that night. Maybe it was something else.

My wife finds it amusing that I refer fondly to these oils my "Sleeping Friends"--it's a favorite passtime of mine to decide which Sleeping Friend I'm going to take to bed on any given night....

You probably know this but you can put a drop on a plate and use a toothpick to place a "micro drop" on the pad.... It's amazing just how concentrated and powerful these oils are--how far a small amount goes.

Enjoy!

Sleep Guy--Just wondering...When I buy scented candles, I always seem to gravitate to ones called "fresh linen" and the like. Any idea what they put in these, and is there any way to replicate something like that in your oils?

I really like fabric softener, too. Unfortunately, that's all going to be synthetic fragrance oil. There are so many good EOs that I've decided for now that I'm not going to cross the line and offer FOs in pur-sleep products. But some of them might be nice, especially for kids (like bubblegum, grape, cherry, etc.). Pedriatric compliance in xpap therapy is extremely low and, who knows, this may provide some answers.

So far I've only tried 3 of them. A week ago or so I got the pack that has all the different types but have been using the creme every night since I first tried it. I like it so much I've been putting off trying any of the others.

It takes 10 drops on the pad the first night.............and then I add 5 drops each night after, if I'm using the same scent consecutively. I like it so I can smell it, and my old sniffer just "ain't" what it used to be.

I've been using the pur-sleep for 2 weeks now. Still don't have a favorite! I have found that I go to sleep quicker, sleep longer, and wake with less aches and pains. I do use 1 drop of the clear(mint) and one drop of which ever other I want to try that night.

I am using them all. Like Brenda I use 1 drop of "clear" with whatever scent I have decided to use. I think my favorite is "spice". I am looking forward to getting the new scents. I have been using pur-sleep for 2 weeks and this is the first time since going under the mask, 1st of Oct., that I have slept this much. On mornings I don't have to get up I have been sleeping 8 hrs or more. Also with the "clear" if I am still a little stuffy before going to bed I will put a drop in the diffuser, lay it next to me or on my chest and let it work while I read or watch TV. By bedtime my nose is usually ready for the mask.

Thanks sleepguy for helping us who have been searching for that little extra something to be compliant and now even enjoy, most times, xpap.
