Anyone using Mojo or Comfort Full? Please give info?

Post by Godsgirl » Tue Mar 13, 2007 6:17 pm

Hi,

If anyone out there is using a Mojo or Comfort Full mask, would you please give me some info on why you like or dislike it? I need to get another full face mask because my Ultra Mirage Full Face is too big around the mouth area for me. Any input on the Mojo or Comfort Full will be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you very much for any info you'd send me!!!!

I would suggest going to the top of the page and doing a search on "mojo". It will return a page of threads that you could check out.
I have no personal information about that mask.

Best wishes,

I used the ComfortFull "M", for the first year on cpap. It did Ok, after the skin on my nose grew back, some masks you have to grow back into after a week.

It has all the normal leaks but I was able to be comfortable with it, and my AHI was good. I tried the F & P 431, It was more comfortable. but my AHI went way higher, probably due to a higher vent rate. Jim

I had a problem with the ball sockets breaking on the ComfortFull, they now say they made them stronger. I bulletproofed mine back together with epoxy. 1300 hours on it.

Godsgirl,

I'm only about two weeks into this "mess" and still struggling. I have several masks and am still trying different ones. I'm currently using the Hybrid and like that, but wanted a regular FF as well. I tried the Ultra Mirage, Mojo and ComfortFull 2 at the DME. I liked the Mirage and the ComfortFull, but the ComfortFull seemed to seal better without as much fiddling. The Mojo? The DME couldn't even get it to seal at all and she tried and tried. We finally both said, "Forget it."

I ended up taking the Comfortfull and although I haven't tried to use it at night yet (just in the afternoons, playing around with it), it's okay. Doesn't hurt and seals decent when I'm on my back. but like so many FF maks, once I turn on my side, I get leaks around the sides of my mouth.

Forgot to add, the ball socket things that hook up the ComfortFull - can't stand them. Didn't think I was that bad at stuff, but I really have a hard time hooking them up. And they must break easily or something, because the mask comes with an extra pair!

Best of luck in finding one that works for you!

Pam

I tried the MoJo mask at the recommendation of my DME. Used it for about one hour the first night and back to my Ultra. The mask is too small to create a good seal around my mouth. When I relaxed my mouth and jaw it created large leaks around the corners of my mouth.

The problem isn't the ball parts, the part of the mask that holds them breaks, they say they are stronger now. I had my mask too tight, and it broke while trying to put the ball in the clip. It pays to keep a spare around, Now I have spares for all the masks. And spare machines too. Jim

I tried the Comfort Full at the sleep lab once and wasn't impressed. I traded for one on here recently and thought I would give it another try (love to try new masks!). I discovered that it still leaks terribly near the sides of my mouth. The interface is too flat for my face so even when I tighten it to the point of pain where it contacts my chin the corners are still too high. The headgear seems to slide up and down the back of my head regardless of how tight/loose the straps are. Not all that comfortable, either.

I use the 431 and love it. Its comfortable. Its stays put and it rarely leaks.

The UMFF would be my second choice in FFMs

The Comfort Full cut into the bridge of my nose within an hour of use.

That's what the adjustment on the forehead piece is for, it lifts the nose bridge. Jim

Tried the Comfort Full 2 and hated it. I had to have the straps so tight that it gave me jaw and gum pain, and it still leaked. I bought the F&P 432, and it's comfortable enough to wear, but after a few nights my nose is pretty sore. I have to go back to the Activa with tape until it heals. And oh yeah, they didn't put an adjustment in the forehead piece on the 432. Can you believe it? Padding it out away from my forehead didn't help much, only created leaks when I went too far. I still like it though as a backup during times of congestion. Maybe I'll grow a callus on my nose??

One piece of info I'd like to see in any discussion of masks is: what pressure are you at? Mine is 14 cm, so I might have to have the straps tighter than someone else. In other words, that same mask might be great for someone on say 8 cm.

I was using the ComfortFull as 15.5 CM, it sealed fair. Jim

my order of mask trials for you based on actually trying them and working with patient would be:

Fisher paykel 431 or 432
Then Mojo
then Hans rudolph

The mojo is definatley soft but find it leaks because it is so soft. Often you have to overtighten the straps to compensate.
