I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!

Post by OldHippie » Fri Mar 09, 2007 9:54 am

I just wanted to write and tell everyone DON'T GIVE UP!!!

After a little over a month on CPAP, using it EVERY night ALL night, I feel like a new person!!!!

I had 2 doctor's appointments this past week. My blood pressure was down, I lost a few pounds, the dark circles are gone from under my eyes (the bags are still there ) and best of all I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!

I prayed a lot that I would feel a difference quickly because I had felt bad for so very long. But I never dreamed of such a drastic improvement in such a short time. I feel very blessed.

My FF mask was not comfortable and I developed an abscess from fiddling with the straps so much. The replacement Swift Nasal Pillows leaked and I got no sleep the nights I used it. I went through a couple of chin straps that didn't work worth a darn and just cost me $$$. Back to the FF mask while committing myself to not give up. It was worth all the trouble.

PLEASE folks, don't give up. Anything you have to go through to feel better is worth it. And you WILL find a mask/machine that works if you DON'T GIVE UP!

God bless,
Louise

Congratulations! And thank you for the reminder to keep on trying! I am in my second week and it is frustrating. Unfortunately, I had a flare up of gout this week and I am in so much pain from the gout that I am not sleeping well at night regardless. This too shall pass (I hope)!

My husband has gout and I know it is miserable. I will pray that you feel better soon.

Congratulations - great news.

It is good to hear about your success - I have been at this for a few days shy of 3 months and still have not made it through the night with the mask. I go up and down with how long I can tolerate it, so your news helps me stick with it.

Congratulations!!!

My niece recently told me how much she hated putting on the mask every night. I agreed with her but added the only thing I hate more is the way I feel if I don't. We're now trying to get my mother to hang in there.

.......it has been a week today that I got my CPAP and I am sleeping thru the night but still feel tired in the morning. However, I see that my mood is starting to improve. I am less grumpy now than before and life seems to suck less right now.
Congratulations and I hope you keep it up.

Louise--Welcome to the World of the Living! Congrats--I couldn't be happier for you. I've also been on both sides of the same issue and the difference is so amazing that it makes you want to just jump for joy.

Thereapy is definitely worth it!
