They announced that they will have a segment on Sleep Disorders on the Today show this a.m., if anyone is interested.

Although it wasn't about sleep apnea, it was interesting to me because I do medical transcription for HCMC and know Dr. Schenck's voice very well, but I had never seen his face until this segment! So thanks for posting about this.

How can you do an entire segment on sleep disorders with barely a mention of sleep apnea? I understand night terrors and acting out fantasies is better entertainment, but how about actually trying to help people. When potentially 20% of the population has undiagnosed sleep apnea, and virtually none with these other rare disorders, it just seems totally irresponsible to me.

Leave to the media to focus on the very rarest yet most sensational of sleep orders. Take it as you see it folks, but it's just more evidence that the most important thing is not what helps but only what sells. Barely even a mention of the most common affliction, sleep apnea. Boo hiss to NBC.
The most active thing I do is jump to conclusions.
