Does a Mirage Swift Mask work with Respir.. M Series Auto ?

Post by JohnMudie » Mon Feb 26, 2007 4:48 pm

My AHI went from 5.5 to 24.7 in a new study so I can now get an APAP. from Medicare. I read somewhere that some APAPs have difficulty working with a Mirage Swift Nasal Pillows Mask. I am getting comfortable with my Swift Mask although I sometimes find it has fallen off in the morning.

Will a M series Auto work with a Mirage Swift Nasal Pillows Mask?

Any suggestions on a more suitable APAP for me?
I want to track my results at home and be able to adjust pressures eventually.

John

John, I've never heard of a mask that can't be used with any machine - there may be some, but the Swift is fine.

What machine do you have now? And did you have to buy the humidifier? Is so, then you might want to get an Auto of the same brand. That way you can use the same humidifier.

I recommend the Remstar Auto (either the classic or the M). But if you can "test drive" several, then that is what you should do. Then pick the one that's best for you.

John, I have Swift and M series Auto. My average AHI is around 5. I have not noticed any problems.
I've got the software. I used to monitor results every day but now every other day as they are more or less consistent.
Good luck.
