Got Prescription Today / APAP Coming Tomorrow

Post by vfont » Thu Feb 22, 2007 4:43 pm

I did my first split night sleep study about a month ago. The results are still not back. In fact, I called the sleep clinic yesterday and they said the results haven't been transcribed yet. To complicate matters, this week I accepted a new job offer in Raleigh, NC. My start date in March 5th. My family and I will be relocating from southeastern CT.

I called my doctor and explained the situation and asked if he would write the prescription even though the results aren't ready yet. I want to take the machine with me. The sleep tech told me that she had titrated me to 9. I did very well at that pressure but I was still snoring lightly. She was about to raise me to 10 when I awoke for the day. I couldn't believe how great I felt and abounded with energy entire day.

My doctor agreed to write the prescription for CPAP at 10. Thanks to all of you here, I ordered the Respironics Auto M, Heated Humidifier, software, and card reader today. I'm getting both the Optilife and Activa Masks. I asked for overnight delivery and will have the unit tomorrow. Even though I've been lurking the past month, the knowledge on this forum is second to none. Thanks again.
