STOPPING AHI.

Post by bluetocker » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:46 pm

How do I stop my AHI at night, sense on cpap no apneas, last night.. AHI - 3.0 - AI -0... I have been on cpap for one week. My pressure in sleep study for cpap was 14cm.
Res-Med APAP vantage... Res-Med Mirage Full Face Mask... H3i humidifier.

Please Advise..

WHAT do you mean by stop it? You mean get it lower? AHI is the SUM of both Hypopnea (HI) and Apnea (AI). Add them together and divide by 60 and you get your AHI.

So your score is 3 per hour. IF AI=0 and AHI=3, then you had only 3 Hypopnea per hour. Nothing wrong with that. Change nothing, use it as is.

I assume you are running the machine in Auto. Right?

If so, what are the high and low pressure on the machine?

Sounds like the low is too low and letting HIs (hypopneas) through.

And again, you don't need to start another thread for another question. You can add to the previous post regarding AHIs. That way, everything will be in one thread.
