A success story – 10 days and counting...

Post by barry9999 » Fri Feb 16, 2007 9:04 pm

Just want to say thank you to everyone in this forum. You all have been a lifesaver, quite literally!

I was fitted with my mask about 4 weeks ago. During my first few weeks, I was having all the typical problems of a newbie. The sleep center and techs were useless. I was getting frustrated as everything I tried did not seem to work. I ended up getting four different masks (UM2, Swift Nasals, Aura and Hybrid) and was considering buying a FF mask. No matter which mask I tried, I had problems. Either the masks leaked or were so uncomfortable that they were painful.

At the end of my wits, I decided to go to this forum for help. I figured that many people probably experienced the same issues. After posting questions about my problems and joining many chat sessions, I realized that my main problem was that I needed to use a nasal gel with any of the nose-type masks. Based on the recommendations, I tried the Ayr Nasal Gel.

I am happy to report that I've been using the gel for the past 10 days with great success. I ended up going with the Swift Nasal mask. I liked this mask the best as it was the smallest and least intrusive. The results are impressive. I am now sleeping through the night and barely feeling the mask. There is no pain or irritation in the morning. Even better is that I am not waking up 10x a night anymore, I am well-rested in the morning and for the first time 10 years, I feel like I am getting a good night's sleep.

Another success story thanks to this group. Thank you everyone!

WTG, Barry! Sometimes it's the smallest things that make for the big successes with this kind of treatment. Very happy to hear your good news.
