Finally...Dreams and more Dreams

Post by clifsmith » Fri Feb 16, 2007 7:37 am

I finally got my FF mask to stay on without leaking. I know I am not supposed to do this, but I did. I felt that 16 was little high especially since the technician at the sleep lab was doing the adjusting of the pressure while the mask was leaking. 16 was literally blowing the mask off my face. I cranked my box down to 14 and I have my full face mask about as tight as I can stand. No leaks and I had a lot of dreams last night and feel rested today. I am guessing if you are having dreams that you are in that "state" of sleep that you need for rest. I also used chap stick for the lips. My throat was a little dry and I have a mark on the bridge of my nose, but its a start. I think I will leave it at 14 and see if my chronic fatigue passes.

I've had two sleep studies in the last 5 years, and the titration was different
on both of them. My weight was exactly the same for both studies. I thank
this forum for educating me to the possibilities of an APAP.

My titrations were 10 and 8, with the APAP, I now know that:
1) My first titration was correct at 10.0 cm/H2O.
2) My second titration was incorrect at 8.0 cm/H2O.
3) MY "sweet Spot pressure is 9.0 cm/H2O.
4) It's very nice to spend most of the night at 8.0 cm/H2O.

+ Aussie heated hose.

Sounds like you may need a better machine. If you are still in a rental phase, you will want to educate yourself about your options for a machine that will provide you with useful data that you can use to monitor and adjust your treatment.

Best of luck!
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

LOL. I haven't yet heard stories about CPAP police. The "good" docs won't object to your active involvement with your therapy. As for the "bad" docs, you're probably better off finding out now rather than later.

Hey, you did the right thing making your therapy tolerable. Now, you're off to a good start. Unlike more than 50% of new CPAP users, you're likely to actually use your CPAP. In the coming days, weeks, and months you can begin to make minor adjustments, just like so many of us have had to do, as you figure out what works for you.

Congratulations, Clifsmith.

Regards,
Bill

I agree that you did the right thing - do whatever is necessary to stay with your treatment. I go with how I feel more than what the "data numbers" reveal.

I have fewer apneas at 9, but my ears hurt and my face and eyelids puff up.

I have more apneas at 7 (but still within normal range), but my ears don't hurt and eyelids don't puff up.

Do whatever is necessary.
