When you all get different masks, do you go through your DME each time? Does it get processed through your insurance? I just wondered how many people are buying masks out of pocket instead of insurance reimbursement. Thanks!

Both.
And many of us buy from cpap.com and then get reimbursed by our insurance company.

I do use the DME (Praxair) for my regularly scheduled replacements (every 6 mos) for the ease of billing and because they are great about letting me try out masks in their office. If I was still with my original DME (Apria) I would have dumped them for CPAP.com in a heartbeat!

I'm blessed to be able to say that my insurance covers everything relating to OSA. I have my Dr. write a Rx and fax it to my DME (Monitor Medical). I then go in and try on as many masks as I like. They bill the insurance company. Super easy for me.

my insurance will buy me a new mask every 3 months. I have a 20% coinsurance to pay. Depending on what the DME charges the insurance co sometimes it is cheaper for me to just buy a mask on my own. Or if I just HAVE to change masks in-between the 3 months I just suck it up. It's not too much to pay for good sleep.

It's not too much to pay for good sleep.
Amen to that.
