Oracle 452 mask

Post by vhendrix » Sat Feb 10, 2007 10:50 pm

Does anyone use the Oracle 452? I just got it and it causes sever dry mouth which is almost intolerable. I like the fit though, most comfortable yet. One other problem is that I sleep on my side and I drool pretty bad and that is also a problem. Looking for any help and suggestions. Thanks

As far as the dry mouth issue, my first question is are you using heated humidity with your machine. I don't run a patient without it. If you do perhaps you need to increase the setting a little bit. Try that and see if that reduces your dry mouth issue.

With the drooling, I honestly used to drool as well. Ironically though since I started on my machine with the heated humidity its allowed me to breath more through my nose (despit the fact I have a FF mask) and I haven't had any issues with saliva in my mask. Sorry I dont have a suggestion for you there.

Chris

Many people who use the Oracle have dry mouth issues.

You might find this thread interesting.

I use the Oracle and absolutely love it because of the fit and no need to adjust it when I turn. Yes,I too sleep on my side; I have no problems with drooling but the dry mouth is horrendous and my humidifier is turned up to the highest. I have concluded that the dry mouth is something that I just have to live with and it disappears as soon as I take a quick swig of water in the AM. I figure it's a trade-off for the comfort of the Oracle

Has anyone tried a standalone HH with the Oracle? You might be able to crank the humidity up...
