Evora better option than F40 for mouth breather?

Post by sleepingbetter0209 » Fri Jan 09, 2026 9:59 pm

I have been successfully using the resmed Airfit F40 for over 18 months and it has consistently given me good therapy with low ahi (under 1.5) and low leaks. I went to the new DME, and they tried to encourage me to try the Evora full face Hybrid as it has single nose opening and works better for obstructed breathing in the nose. I use a large F40 for better nasal airflow. Is it worth trying the Evora? Has anyone had a better experience with the Evora vs other hybrid masks?

I'm pretty successful using an Evora FF with large cushion. I would like to try the F40, but magnets and pacemakers don't mix. I don't always have a great night, but high leakage nights are not too frequent.

Here's a suggestion: Tell them that if they're so sure the Evora is better for you they should let you try it for free, and let you pay for it only after it has proven to be the better mask for you.
Masks should be thought of like shoes. Suppose the Evora is better than the F40 for 90% of the population. And suppose the you belong to the 10% for whom the F40 is the better mask. What benefit would you have from switching?

I am not sure what "hybrid" means as regards Evora Models ...but I do use an Evora Full Face Mask and I find it to be very comfortable and I get minimal nights with leakage.

My masks have a single aperture under the nose.

I like to think I am a nasal breather mostly but I am also sure that I may take breaths per mouth. I do have mild sinus blockage.

Only way to find out is to try one.
