Need Thin Mouth Tape

Post by VVV » Sat Nov 08, 2025 10:48 am

That's thin tape for mouth, not thin-mouth tape. :D

The thin tape I have used for years seems to have been dropped from the manufacturer's product line.

Any recommendations for a thin tape?

Walmart sells a medical tape that is made of thin paper. I like it, but wish it was wider than one inch.

I have tried that. I like it, but I was referring to this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Paper ... om=/search
I think it is more comfortable.

OK, thank you. I'm going to try the other one first because it says waterproof. In my experience, the paper ones fail to adhere when there is the least bit of dribble in the night.

I have 240 days of my favorite tape left, so it will be a while before I start testing. The manufacturer seems to have discontinued my favorite. :(

Why not try the replacement tape now, instead of when you've run out of your favorite?

(Secretly, I harbor hopes that the manufacturer of my tape will resume production within 240 days.)

I don't want to live on the edge, but visits are fun.

3M Micropore. The beige seems to stick better than the white. Give it a go.

I actually find the adhesive on 3M micropore paper too strong.
If I don't drool, I need to use baby oil in order to remove the tape. Did it for years.
I've switched to using 3M Micropore Skin Friendly Silicone Medical Tape - not sure I would describe it as thin, and yes, drooling may loosen it so I have to make sure it's taped "just so" - but when I get it right and it sticks, removing it is easier.
Another tape I've tried is "Smith and Nephew/BSN Cover-Roll Stretch - 2" x 10 Yards - Hypoallergenic" . It's thin and flexible and the adhesive a bit firmer than the 3M silicon. Switched to 3M Slilcon because of the price of delivery for where I live. I use water to loosen the Cover Roll - and it too isn't "drool proof". But it's good.
