Re: Questions regarding AHI's
I don't know much as it relates to any of this but I do wonder how/why a machine can transfer extensive data to a different medium that can be interpreted as accurate yet not reliably transfer even the most basic, accurate data to it's own LCD screen!?! Seems to me there would be less chance for accuracy the further that data gets from the source. Either that or someone's dropped the ball on programming the source app via complacency or laziness. So ignore the primary machine but accept another source that gets its info from the ignored machine as gospel!?! And how long and how many series of machines must be made & used before someone spends the time necessary to report accurately what the machine is controlling/reporting, or the person it's attached to is experiencing. We implicitly trust a machine to accurately control our apnea/hypopnea events for full sleep cycles or naps (sleep is sleep is sleep!) but not trust or believe the data it itself reports!?! Really!?! Believe/trust what the machine has done during a sleep cycle when studied remotely on a different machine but disregard all/most of what it reports on its own LCD screen at the end of that cycle as folly!?! Ok I get it now... NOT!
I'm sorry guys but it just seems to me that a smart CPAP machine should be able to display the most rudimentary and basic sleep data for full/partial sleep cycles as well as naps accurately and error-free. Maybe Airsense 12!?! I played OCD with this stuff back in early 2018. Life's different for me now. I don't wanna study the bejeezus outta my last night's sleep report for hours or even minutes. I wanna roll over, sit on the side of the bed, give my machine's LCD 'Screen Report' a quick glance then get on with my day. If there's something alarming/concerning I'll get back to it when convenient.

Re: Questions regarding AHI's
You are reporting something that has never been reported before, that doesn't make sense, and hasn't happened since. What makes most sense is; you made a mistake reading it, remembering.
When you first described it, you described two scenarios, one possible, one not possible, you also described them as hypothetical.
I'll wait for the pic.

Later, when you learned why 0.3 was possible with 8.5 hours, but 0.1 was not with 1 hour, your "Let's say this happened" became absolute.Let's say my machine shows I slept for 1 hour and had .1 AHI or slept 8.5 hours and had .3 AHI's.
I'll wait for the pic.

Re: Questions regarding AHI's
DS; At my age, aggrivated by chemo-related brain fog (Google 'chemo brain'), I have to agree with you. It's entirely possible I misread the machine... twice; when waking from that nap and again when going to bed for the night later that evening. Had I known or even suspected it was SUCH an oddity I would've taken the pic 3-4 days ago when it happened. I too want that pic and will be vigorously napping afternoons each day for awhile trying to get it. I don't know how or if it's even possible to post a pic within a thread here but if I manage to get one I'll get it up somewhere anyone that wants, can view it.

Re: Questions regarding AHI's
Another oddity, least to me yesterday/last night. Had my pm nap with normal AHI numbers, essentially 2.X hours machine useage/0 events per hour. No issues. Back to bed for the night near 6:30pm-ish, with same numbers on machine LCD that were there when I awoke from my nap earlier. Slept till just after 11pm and got up to pee. LCD readings before & after toilet run were identical, ie; 7.X hours useage/.3 events per hour. Just got up for the day at 4:07am and machine shows 11.13 hours usage with "0" events per hour. And they'll remain on the screen till noon tho taking a pic now is useless without an accompanying 11pm-ish pic from last night for comparison. (I can't win for losing!)
Now admittedly I'm a crazy man with the attention span of a kitten who's totally inept/incapable of reading/retaining anything from an LCD screen with any semblance of accuracy, but quick, while I'm still thinking about it, any idea where my (real or imagined) .3 events per hour, or any portion thereof, just after 11pm last night went!?!

check the time especially the am/pm on your device is accurately set.

I thought it took care of that automatically in the same way it tells time in whatever time zone. But give me a hint how/where to look and I'm on it. Thanks DS!Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 6:32 amcheck the time especially the am/pm on your device is accurately set.
Update; The machine resets itself every day at noon and self-updates for daylight savings time both ways; beginning & end. Wouldn't that preclude incorrect/transposed am/pm settings? Seems to me it would be resetting itself at midnight otherwise. But I'll defer to you on this... whatta I know!?!

If your signature is accurate and you have a ResMed, then no, it does not update the time. And, no, they don't update the time automatically everyday at noon. Where'd that come from?salinas212 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 6:36 amI thought it took care of that automatically in the same way it tells time in whatever time zone. To set the time on an Air 10 you go into clinician mode. Press and hold the select and home buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.

Re: Questions regarding AHI's
I'm sorry and please pardon my long way around replying but I couldn't figure out how to do quotes from multiple posts so I copy/pasted my own below;
DS wrote; <<If your signature is accurate and you have a ResMed, then no, it does not update the time. And, no, they don't update the time automatically everyday at noon. Where'd that come from?>>
From an earlier post in this thread;
Pugsy wrote; <<(remember the machine reset hours of use and data at noon) so you should be starting with a clean slate.>>
Again, any/all errors in understanding, or lack thereof related to this must be considered my own exclusively and no one else's!

Resetting the hours, does not mean re-syncing the time and date.salinas212 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 1:46 pm
