OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
Hello,
I am using OSCAR to track my therapy. I slept at 4.30 am (13th July) till 12.20 PM (13th July). OSCAR is only showing the 13th of July data for 20 minutes and the rest of the data is being shown under the previous night (12th July). (See the screenshots)
How do I get my entire night to show under 13th so that I can look at the AHI and other parameters.
I searched online for a similar query, but I couldn't find any. I got one recommendation which was to purge the data and reimport it. I purged all the daily data for 12th and 13th and reimported each time but the same thing happens.
Thank you

Re: OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
Do separate pgs for each night... or is there something I'm missing?

You don't.
ResMed treats a recording day from noon until noon.
All data before noon on the 12th will be grouped in the July 11th sessions and after noon in the July 12th session.
Edited. Fixed date typo

Re: OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
What do you mean by pgs?
My question was that I wanted the data from 13th to be shown on 13th calendar day instead of the section on 12th. But because the machine was used after 12 PM on the 13th, the data was split as the day was reset.
OSCAR usually has an option for day splitting but it doesn't work with ResMed devices. Another option is to shift the time so that noon falls 1 or 2 hours after the actual 12 PM.

What was your diagnosis? How long have you been using CPAP?

My diagnosis was sleep apnea with an RDI of 30. I have been using CPAP since the past five days (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14- the reason it shows a gap for 11 is because I changed the date and time to match my local time.)ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sun Jul 13, 2025 5:10 pmWhat was your diagnosis? The dating doesn't make sense. For example, I slept at 4am today (14th July) and woke up at 11.30 am, but all my data is being shown on the 13th. I don't know why it's not showing on the same day.

What was the AHI and AHI breakdown?
Can't help you there. Personally, it's the kind of thing I don't worry about. My goal is to have a CPAP therapy that allows me to sleep well and be energetic the next day.

This is the OSCAR data for my last night. I slept at 4.30 AM (July 14th) and woke up at around 11.50.

Check to make sure that your machine's date is set correctly.
Odd....your machine's report actually shows July 14 as the date. It's just the calendar date that seems off.

Re: OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
I think it is because ResMed doesn't reset at midnight. So, if you sleep after 12.00 AM (new day), the data recorded will be categorized under the previous date (the one before 12.00 AM). Usually, people sleep on the 13th and wake up 'next day' on the 14th (such as sleeping at 10.00 PM on 13th and waking up at 7.00 AM on 14th) which is why the data is categorized under 13th. If ResMed reset the day at midnight, the data would be split so that 2 hours before midnight would be under the previous day, and the data after midnight would be under the new day, but this would make it more confusing which is why ResMed resets the day at 12.00 PM instead of midnight.
Re: OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
Weird. My machine is the AirCurve 10 VAuto and it resets at noon as well BUT I just check last month's reports and the calendar date matches exactly with report date. It's not a day late like yours is showing. Of course I don't sleep past noon.....ever.
Your situation makes me wish we had ResScan for verification just in case it is an OSCAR issue in your situation. I quit using ResScan years ago.
See my report from last night. Sunday night July 13, 2025. Calendar date and report date match up.

You could try a free account at SleepHQ.com to see if it's more to your liking.

Re: OSCAR last night data being shown under previous night
So the reason there is a mismatch between the calendar and report date is because of the bottom left session selection. On the same day, there are multiple sessions. Look at the screenshots. The biggest session was the night of July 14th (4.23 am to 11.50 am). If I only select that session to be on, the report date will be 14th but the calendar date will be 13th. I slept on 4.20 AM on July 14th and woke up at 11.50 AM (July 14th), and this is being reported under the calendar day of 13th. If I turn the other sessions on, the date is changed back to 13th and they become the same. There are 3 sessions on the calendar day of 13th. The middle one was a nap on July 13th from 2.45 PM to 3.11 PM during the day. This was around 27 minutes. So on the very same day that I took the nap (July 13th), I stayed past 12.00 AM so that it was technically a new day (July 14th) and then slept at 4.00 AM. All of that sleep is being reported under the calendar day of 13th instead of 14th.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 10:50 amWeird.
