Newbie here, after VA looked at my at-home test results, have sent me a ResMed Airsense 11 to begin my CPAP journey. Looking for any helpful advice getting used to this specific device.Thanks.

Re: Hello, Newbie Here
The specific machine is much less important than finding a mask that works and is comfortable. Have you started using it? Initially its best to try the mask while not sleeping, read a book, watch TV etc. This will help you acclimate to how it feels. I often take an afternoon nap when I'm trying out a new mask, new machine or new settings. Its easier to relax when falling asleep isn't as necessary as at bedtime.
Do you know what pressure range has been set on your machine? Machines are often set to the factory defaults after home testing. Some initial tuning will often make it more comfortable. If you press and hold two fingers on the screen for a few seconds you will get to the clinical menu. Post what the settings are and how the machine and mask feel. Also let us know what kind of mask you are using, and how it feels. Does it leak? Is it comfortable? Get started and let us know how things are going. Don't be discouraged if its not great at first, everyone goes through some learning, especially if you were diagnosed in a home setting rather than in a lab where they often fit you with a mask and work out comfortable settings. I've been using one for 20 years or so and am probably still here because of it. Life is better when you breath at night!

Oh, almost forgot. If your machine didn't come with an SD card get one so you can get a record of what's happening at night. Any good quality SD card 32 GB or smaller will work. You can then use either OSCAR or Sleep HQ to see what's going on.
