I have always used a ffm, decided to try a P30i pillow saturday night, first time I felt like I slept all night, woke up a little stuffy and felt pretty good for a change, didnt feel foggy or tired.
Used it again last night, raised the humidity to 2 , slept all night again, woke up and felt pretty good.
With that said, my data looks horrible all the sudden for last night, I rarely have any obstructive events, last night I had quite a few.
I am using mouth tape and it was still sealed on my mouth when I woke up, so I am not sure how I can have such large leaks and not even feel it blowing out. (the main reason I am trying to get away from a FFM)
I did lower my pressure for the nasal pillows, on my ffm F40 I was 12.5 -14.
Is it normal to suddenly have higher Oa's and low ahi and still feel good the next day?
I dont want to keep using the nasal pillows if its causing more Oa's than I had before!
screen shots are attached
thanks

An obstructive apnea index of 1.0 is low.tiredNorlando wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:38 pmI rarely have any obstructive events, last night I had quite a few.

Re: sudden high obstructive apneas
But its higher than ever before, much higher. should I change anything or just keep trying the nasal pillows?

Re: sudden high obstructive apneas
Respironics machine report 2 different leak rates at the same time....intentional vent/leak rate (that top leak line) and unintentional/excess leak (that bottom leak line). Your leak line actually looks about like I would expect to see on a Respironics report. The slight variations....probably a teeny tiny bit of mask movement and not uncommon. Nothing to worry about with that leak at all especially if worrying about it being less than optimally effective.
I am sorry but I don't put an AHI of 1.0 (even if all obstructive)....... it doesn't qualify as "sudden high OAs" in my book and I wouldn't worry about it.
1....we don't sleep the same each night so expected variations can and will happen even with the same mask being used.
You have no proof that the nasal pillows caused the flagging.
2....some of those flagged OAs could possibly be SWJ anyway not enough to worry about.
Perhaps a refresher is being able to spot SWJ flagging is in order before you put on your worry wart hat.
Do you know how to do that?
Do you remember waking very often last night?
Use the mask you like the best. There's nothing to change in the way of settings.

I don't think it matters if it's normal.tiredNorlando wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:38 pm

it's now normal for YOU and that should be celebrated. a few years ago, I gave up scrutinizing my numbers and started concentrating on how I feel. did the numbers go up? YES.
do I feel better and more relaxed and refreshed? YES.
so that's what my journey has turned into. I don't worry about numbers any longer.

Re: sudden high obstructive apneas
You lowered your minimum pressure from 12.5 to 11.5, yet you're only considering the change of mask responsible for your OA increase.
The minimum pressure is one of the key configuration items for controlling obstructive events. Set your minimum pressure back to 12.5 so the camparison is between masks not FF(on 12.5cm) and Pillows(on 11.5).
And then lets try a sample size more than than 1.
