I'm being transitioned from my ResMed S8 to a refurbished Philips Respironics Dreamstation because the ResMed is so old and because the Dreamstation can capture data.
I'm using an AirFit N20 nasal mask. I'm using a CPAP of 8 cmH2O. No ramps or fancy settings.
When I inspire using the Dreamstation, the airflow in the tubing near the mask is very loud. It's enough to keep me awake. Expiration is not loud and is not a problem. The machine is not making the noise; it is the airflow. When I use the ResMed S8, it is quiet throughout the respiratory cycle with the same mask and tubing. Same pressure setting.
Does anyone have any insight into this?
