One week new to cpap

Post by Hollyb513 » Sun Dec 08, 2024 10:12 pm

I am new to this group. I just started to use mine and I am getting better at using it longer. But I wake up with red marks on my face where my mask lays on my face since I'm a side sleeper. Anyone ever use the the satin covers for your straps to help with it? I know this takes time to get used to but does anyone use any face lotions to help with rashes or red face? I went from 3 hours a night to 9 hours but I have caught myself trying to slap my mask off. Any good tips would be helpful.

The best place to get mask liners is from padacheek.com. The owner is a member here and the liners are designed to fit your mask. They are fleece and are real comfy, It will eliminate the marks.

Yes, I've used the ones from padacheek. They're good. Which mask do you use?

When I started, I believed the mask should be very tight on my face. Over time I learnt that was not so and I found a happy balance of strap tightening.

Far more comfortable, tolerable and just as effective based on the morning reports of events.

Yes, check the tightness of your mask. Too tight is just as bad as too loose.

Epsecially check the relative tightness of the top and bottom, and check that left and right are equal.

Most masks inflate like a ballon in order to create a seal. Too tight can prevent that from working correctly.
