Should EricF republish its "Sexuallity Pool"?

Eric,
IF you do re-post 'whatever it was', you may want to give it a title of "Caution; content may be offensive", or something of that nature?
That way, IF people heed the warning, there should be no complaints, except to voice them to you directly in a PM.
ALSO, it won't be 'bumped up' from people commenting, arguing, discussing, etc.
I don't think our intentions are to hurt anyone's feelings, but to be honest.
If there aren't any negative comments posted, then there won't be a need to either support them or disagree.
We cannot afford to lose valuable people, such as Linda3032, when she implied she would not be posting again.
That's why I'm suggesting comments be directed to YOU, VIA PM.
Hopefully, the people who voted 'NO' won't bother reading it, and the views submitted to you will be from (mostly?) those who voted to put it back up.
Therefore, if those that wanted to read it DID find it displeasing, you'd be finding out about it pretty quickly!
I hope I'm not complicating this 'issue', by trying to find a solution to any possible future problems.
Your decision, of course.

Sexuality "Pool"
I must admit that I was curious for quite awhile about the original "sexuality pool". I did not see it before Eric removed it. After seeing the gist posted though, I see why some may have been offended or thought it was inappropriate. That being said, though, I would not have been offended. Here is why. OSA affects EVERY aspect of our lives. It's not just something that affects us when we try to sleep. We are tired during the day. We can be less that adequate behind the wheel of our car. Decision making skills can be clouded. Those are a small sampling of OSA side effects during the day. We all know there are far reaching effects. Now, let's look at the personal side of the this. Most of us are married or have significant others. We mention quite often that our SO's sleep in another room, sometimes in humor, sometimes not. We mention quite often that with the use of a mask, now, the snuggling days are over for those that have remained in the same bed. I fall into that category. My wife and I used to chase each other back and forth on the bed all night to spoon and snuggle. That's a thing of the past. Now our king size bed feels 10 times wider than its actual size. She never left me for my snoring. She stayed to ensure I kept breathing. There was the occasional complaint that she was tired but oh my God, was she a trooper to stay by my side. My mask exhaust and the hissing bother her. Not enough to leave our bed but enough to distance herself a little (a lot in my book). So, last night I slept without treatment. I did not even turn it on. We slept in each others arms like the good old days. We've been married for 34 years and still think each other are handsome (me) and beautiful (her). I feel tired today but I have a nice warm glow that' been missing since I hosed up.
So, I guess I've been leading up to this. OSA and the treatment involved surely have an adverse effect on our romantic (sex) lives. That cannot be disputed. It may not be a comfortable subject but it is a fact of life. Romance is a huge part of my life. I would never share details, that's nobody's business. I would share that OSA and masking have an negative effect though. It seems to me that the subject does have a place on cpaptalk, albeit a very small and personal one. Eric, in a misguided approach, touched on something. I don't care to take a poll on the "gist" of it, though. I only want to acknowledge that romance can indeed fall victim to OSA, thus, making it an approachable topic if desired.

Yes. Sorry that the irony didn't shine through a little brighter.

Re: Should EricF republish its "Sexuallity Pool"?
Very conservative, Republican, Christian Senator Rob Portman announced his change of heart and support for gay marriage. On CNN he said his Protestant ministers had given him advice that helped him change his mind. You can read more about it here - http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/15/politics/ ... index.html
Not to mention the younger generation is very accepting of gay marriage. It's just a matter of time before it is both legal and accepted in fifty states.

Could you spoon backwards? With your wife behind you, so she doesn't have the exhaust on her? Good luck to you!cajapato wrote:I must admit that I was curious for quite awhile about the original "sexuality pool". I did not see it before Eric removed it. In any case, this problem was probably solved about 6 years back...Could you spoon backwards? With your wife behind you, so she doesn't have the exhaust on her? Good luck to you!

Used to be a blond before turning gray myself *smile*...we've all done this, it is kind of humorous in a eerie sort of way when you sit back and think about it, though. I guess the interesting part (to me) is that the problems being addressed are timeless, it isn't obvious that you're reading voices from the past.Catalytic wrote:I'm a blonde suffering sleep deprivation...can you tell?RogerSC wrote:In any case, this problem was probably solved about 6 years back...Could you spoon backwards? I see that at least one person above dealt with this the old-fashioned way, they deleted their post (or it was deleted by someone else), so that my first response above makes no sense. It looks like I'm responding to an old thread, when I was responding to someone responding to an old thread *smile*...no wonder. Just removed my orphan post above, now it looks more normal *smile*.
