In a clinical study, Apple validated that all of the people who received sleep apnea notifications from the watch did indeed get at least mild sleep apnea diagnoses.

This is a completely meaningless statement, especially in PR and advertisement. Of course Apple expects clearance, but all kinds of people, especially the Apple sycophants, will read and interpret that as Apple will be getting clearance shortly. From the article wrote:Apple says it expects to receive FDA clearance for the feature, though it does not have it yet.

"FDA Clearance" is not the same as "FDA Approved". Clearance only means a basic scrutiny for safety as compared to other devices. The FDA is not saying the device is effective.

It would be great if more people would use it to get sleep tests.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 3:47 pmIn a clinical study, Apple validated that all of the people who received sleep apnea notifications from the watch did indeed get at least mild sleep apnea diagnoses.

After saying I had no interest in an Apple Watch, a deal came to me for a $425 Apple Watch Pro 13 at Best Buy for $75 new, closed box, full Apple warranty. I love it - so many helpful functions.
The big functions for me are the Fitness App and the Sleep App. I use the Fitness App to improve my workouts which helps me sleep better and gets me in better physical shape with less danger of overtraining. The sleep app has helped me learn the causes of poorer nights of sleep. There is synergy between the two apps.
Granny, I look forward to getting this latest model. Thanks for posting!
BTW, I don't care what the FDA says.
