Waking after 3-4 hours consistently
I've tried a full face mask and felt suffocated in the middle of the night, so I am now using air pillows - I definitely like it better, but I still struggle to keep the mask on for more than 3-4 hours. I see that I start snoring around that time, and the pressure increases to combat the apnea - is this ok and something I will just need to get used to, or should I be adjusting this setting? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Waking after 3-4 hours consistently
You have some leak issues muddying up things.
The snores happened when in big leak and the machine couldn't maintain adequate pressure because of that leak.
Is all this causing sleep problems....maybe....probably....but the leaks need to be dealt with first to eliminate sub optimal pressures.

Have you tried undoing it after the 3-4 hrs to see if maybe they were enough?

Since I have air pillows, could the leaks occur due to my mouth being open while snoring? If this is the case, would a chin strap or mouth tape be the solution?Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 8:08 amYou have some leak issues muddying up things.

The leaks could be mouth opening/breathing leaking or simply it could be mask movement leaking. No way to know for sure unless you tape your mouth shut and make sure the tape doesn't come loose and then you look to see if the leaks are still present or taping the mouth stopped the leaking.thirty6chambers wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 3:55 pmSince I have air pillows, could the leaks occur due to my mouth being open while snoring? Once you figure out if it is mouth opening or mask movement for sure....then you can weigh your options for dealing with it.
Chin straps won't stop mouth opening very well. They simply can't be vise grip tight enough to lock the mouth shut.
Chin straps are designed to be gentle reminder to keep mouth shut....but they can't force it shut nor stay shut.
