Can you help me read my graphs please?

Post by Longwalksonthe » Fri Oct 04, 2024 8:41 am

Hello, I've struggled to use my cpap machine ever since I got it many years ago. But I always try to use it every now and then to see if anything changes.

I used it for about 4 nights and each morning I will wake up with a stomach full of air, which is a common occurrence whenever I use the machine.

I also noticed that most of my AHI is made up of clear airway events, any ideas on why that might be?

Thank you!

Nothing will change, so long as you keep trying it every once in a while.

Put it on, stick with it every night. Acclimate to it.

I would feel suffocated with such low pressures, I'd bum my minimum up to 7. One potential cause of the centrals could be EPR, try knocking it down to 2, to see if they reduce.

Two footnotes to DS's excellent advice.

First, I'd be willing to bet that a fair number of those CAs come after an arousal, either rousing you from sleep to waking or from deeper sleep to more shallow sleep. It is very common for people to experience more arousals when they aren't used to CPAP. So the more consistently you use it, the more likely it is you'll have fewer arousals (and CAs).

Second, if you reset your minimum to 7, be sure to set your ramp pressure to 7 too. Or you could just turn ramp off.

I can't offer any useful advice which won't stop me from commenting.

I was just wondering if the remainder of your user name is "short pier"?
people say i'm self absorbed.

It's always been a struggle but I will try to stick with it this time and I will give that change a try. Thanks for the answer

Alright, that makes sense, thank you, will give that suggestion a try, appreciate it
