I finally slept through the entire night!!
The only problem is when I woke up I found the mask laying beside me on the bed blowing air like crazy.

LOL!! I think most of us have done that at some point. Eventually we learn to keep it on all night!

Hang in there. Lots of us have had to gradually build up the sleep hours. About the only time I can get a full 8 is on the weekends.Jcastle wrote:How long have you been on treatment? It has been 7 weeks and I still have yet to get a straight 8.

Finding the mask off and laying beside you is not untypical within the first few months.

Hi, have the same problem.. I have had my setup now going on three months.
I have the best of intention on wearing my mask all night, but I sometimes wake up in the morning with my mask lying next to me. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and my mask is pushed up and resting on my forehead!
but.. its getting better, when I first started using my CPAP I didn't think I was even going to be able to use it or get used to it.
what works for me is if I really clear out my nose before going to bed, blow your nose, use saline spray to moisten your nasal passages and use a decongestant if you have allergies. This has become my nightly ritual. When I have very clear nasal passages I seem to keep the mask on all night. its really hard for me to keep the mask on when im even slightly congested.

Hi J,
join the club.. I am the same way, 5 hours of sleep for me is a long night.. I have had insomnia ever since my early teens, I am now 37.
I have found that quitting caffeine greatly helped me fall asleep at a normal time and stay asleep.. and also taking a walk or exercising at night about 2 to 3 hours before I go to bed.

Give up coffee!! I'd rather breath through a hose! Seriously, my problem is more stress related I believe. My mind will not shut off long enough to fall asleep.sharktone wrote:
