New DME supplier and CPAP Recommendations

Post by mshilko » Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:05 pm

All,

My trusty ResMed s9 is throwing a message that states is it past its life expectancy. Did a new home sleep study with Own Sleep Medicine. I loved my s9, but they do not offer any ResMed products stating quality control issues with the brand as of late. My first question, is that what people are seeing?

Secondly, assuming that is the case, they only offer two machines. https://www.ownsleepmed.com/autopap-choices The Apex XT and the 3B Luna. Anyone have a recommendation between the two. Seem fairly limited selection, and I have no experience with either. I like the Apex because I do not use the humidifier and I can just remove it and store it away resulting in a smaller footprint.

Thanks, Mike

**Update**
One other tidbit I just got from the DME as well, which definitely seems suspect. The price with insurance was ~1k, the price without insurance is $9xx. IMO: They are overcharging the insurance companies in order to undercut them and take all the profit. That seems a bit sketchy. Everyone I talked to was very nice, informative and pleasant. This coupled with the other comment make me do make me want to take my bidness elsewhere though.

Find another supplier who won't lie to you and try to pawn off cheap Chinese knock off machines because they are cheaper and since insurance pays the same no matter the brand their bottom line for profit is increased.

Not what people are seeing or reporting at all. Totally made up by the DME so they can pawn off a cheap machine on you.

Just FYI, I tried to turn off that message over here but people said it wasn't worth it to even think about it.
