Switched to P10 for two weeks now, how is my sleep looking?

Post by jclarke131000 » Thu Jul 11, 2024 6:52 am

Was using an F20 for the best part of 3 months when starting CPAP, with mouth tape due to terrible aerophagia. Visited my clinic and they advised a pillow or nasal mask. Switched to the N20 I believe for a while but had alot of problems with not being able to exhale and feeling like I was struggling to breath, felt like it was pinching the top of my nose the moment it went on and I already have very narrow nasal passages.

Spent the last 2 weeks slowly tweaking pressures between around 8 and 11 while I adjust to the mask. Switched to a medium pillow as I was having alot of wakes due to leaks. AHI seems to be consistently around 1.3 - 1.6 now, with as low as 0.5 one night. I don't quite feel as well rested upon waking with the P10, and often wake with very sore and watery eyes which reminds me of pre CPAP and feeling awful when I first wake but I think it might just be air blowing in them while I'm sleeping?

Anyway, would appreciate some input from anyone off of my data, if you have any recommendations for pressure or anything else at all!

As far as your therapy goes, your leaks seem acceptable. The concern, though, is whether they might be waking you up off and on during the night. Do you have any guesses about that?

And yes, your eye problems might be from air leaking from the mask. Another possibility is that air from your vent is bouncing off a pillow, sheet, arm, or whatever and hitting you in the eyes. Don't block the vent, but do check to see whether you might be getting that kind of bounce.

Some people with eye problems will wear an eye mask at night. Worth a try?

Are you still using tape? Do you ever wake up with a dry mouth? I ask because it's possible some of the leaking is coming from your mouth.
