Opus 360 design change?
Opus 360 design change?
Has the Opus 360 design changed recently? The last two I have gotten have been much more loud with inspiration and exhalation. I’m thinking maybe the exhalation port or holes are different, or most likely the plastic piece has changed.
This has traditionally been my mask of choice, but hearing every single breath is a game changer.

Don't know, but there is no "new and improved" verbiage on their website.

Re: Opus 360 design change?
I didn't even know that the Opus 360 was still available. It's been around since before I started cpap back in 2009.
I am not aware of any changes (at least made public) to anything with that mask. I doubt this new noise you hear is from some sort of mask change like vent holes.
You might look at the ResMed P10 nasal pillow mask.....it's nearly silent in terms of any noise.
Also the ResMed N30 under the nose nasal cushion mask. It vents like the P10 vents and is silent as well.
If you are hearing your own breathing it might also be from some conducted noise. Have you changed hose routing or hose position????

Re: Opus 360 design change?
Does anyone know if the Resmed Airfit P30i nasal pillows fit up off of the lip?

Not sure what you mean. No CPAP masks fit on the lip.
Watch some videos on YouTube about fitting and adjusting the P10. There are also some here - https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... k-headgear

Re: Opus 360 design change?
If you are asking about the silicone actually touching the skin area between the nostril and the lip line.....the P30i is going to touch it.
I don't know if you can pull it off the skin so it won't ever touch.
I tried it/P30i long ago very briefly but don't remember where the mask rests in terms of the skin above lip line because the Darth Vader noise with it was so bad/annoying that I didn't even really try to fall asleep with it.
I didn't feel like wasting my time on a really (at least to my ear) breathing noisy mask. That noise was a deal breaker for me.

Re: Opus 360 design change?
Thank you all for your responses. F&P confirmed that there have been no changes with the exhalation port or manufacturer. Maybe my face is just getting old, wrinkled, and changing shape since I first started on PAP therapy.
Yes, I like the up off of the upper (above the lip) design of the Opus 360– just to clarify. I may change to a different nasal pillows mask or an over the nose design.

Ummm
Maybe it's your machine? An S9? Did you check it carefully for wrinkles?

Re: Opus 360 design change?
You might want to go ahead and update your equipment profile to reflect the machine and humidifier you are currently using.
Will avoid confusion later.
Also...just about any nasal mask can be used with some sort of hose management system and that can lift the mask off that upper lip area so it doesn't touch that skin.

I've learned that when my AS10 humidifier isn't closed properly, or when it isn't inserted firmly, I'll hear evey breath.
