Respironics ASV to Resmed ASV difficulty

Post by sleepinow » Tue May 28, 2024 2:36 am

Hello, I want to make the switch to the Resmed ASV but am hesistant because I dread having to get through the transistion phase when my body learns to accept the new machine and how it slightly operates differently.

My question is, how long does it typically take to switch machines and have your body and mind 'accept' it?

I tried using the Resmed ASV under the same settings that my Respironics had one night and it felt uncomfortable that night and I didn't sleep well.

Btw I am well aware of the foam issue and have the foam removed. I just want the switch since my machine has well over 20,000 hours and I read that the Resmed is typically overall better

There's some good information here:

Also, try using the new machine during the day or evening, outside your bedroom, while you read, watch TV, or use your devices. This will speed up your adaptation.
