mouth breathing with full face mask

Post by Guest » Mon Feb 05, 2007 3:40 pm

I have been trying to breath out of nose only but I read someone on site that it is ok to breathe out of mouth with full face mask. Is that true? If so I could give up the struggle.

Yes. The reason you can't mouth breathe with a nasal mask is because all the pressure shoots out your mouth and you lose the constant pressure which keeps your airway open. In a full face mask it doesn't matter if you mouth breathe because your airway will still be held open.

Relax and enjoy.

FF masks are designed for people who breathe through their mouths or have mouth leaks. Try it!

You most likely will get an uncomfortably dry mouth. Turning your heated humidifier up will help but not solve the problem of dry mouth. In my case, I eventually got used to having a dry mouth at night.
