New Masked Marver

Post by TonyB » Sun Feb 04, 2007 1:22 pm

I have been on the hose now for nearly six weeks. I too went thru the woe is me stage and after finding this great site have realized that I am not alone. I always knew(read told) that I was a heavy snorer however never thought more about it. My father has OSA and is a hosehead so perhaps along with weight genetics plays a part in this.

I am very compliant and although I went thru a short stage that I did not look forward to sleep it is getting better. I used to nod off at my computer at work in the afternoon and although I do not do that anymore I still find myself yawning alot. I have read some about sleep debt and wonder if that is what is going on with me. I have also lost about 25 lbs since becoming a hoser and wonder if it is simply energy loss. I do not fall asleep on the couch when I come home from work so I do believe that it is working for me. My wife has been great about this as well as I also had the issue of me having a mask on my face while sleeping with her. She does not care and believes she sleeps better w/o my snoring.

I am sure I will have more questions as I go along but for now I just wanted to sign on and thank everyone who posts to this site as having threads to read for information, for support, or simply to try and feel better about this process goes along way in working our way thru this.

Thanks to all.

Welcome hosebrother!

Do you think I can borrow whatever xPAP you're using so I can lose 25lbs?
Wake me up when this is over...

I was here first Rabid. There's a rule that little old ladies get to go before Rabid dogs.
