My brother tells me that his Cardiologist told him the same thing.... Obstructions during sleep can/may trigger heart arrhythmias, particularly Atrial Fibrillation. The danger of blood clotts is far greater for atrial fib, hence the script for anti-coagulants.

My husband had double ablation, up one leg for atrial fibrillation and up the other leg for atrial flutter. One side had to be burned, the other frozen. His surgery was successful and solved both problems.

Hi, can you elaborate on that?Deborah K. wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 11:30 amMy husband had double ablation, up one leg for atrial fibrillation and up the other leg for atrial flutter. One side had to be burned, the other frozen. His surgery was successful and solved both problems.
We’re both ablations done at the same time and the catheters were inserted in both left and right femoral veins?

Here is a full list of all the health conditions for which no links for causation or worsening can be made to the bad sleep and the bad breathing that come from untreated OSA.
List:
End of list.
Sleep and breathing are vital parts of the body's basic waste management and repair systems. Without those parts working properly, everything begins to break down, malfunction, and deteriorate in an accelerated manner. And in the case of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep-disordered breathing issues, the body's having to manufacture and implement large amounts of panic juice just to jar someone awake during repeated suffocations is a repetitive shock to every part of the body and brain. So the answer to 'Is [blank] linked to OSA?' is always a Yes, if it in any way involves physical, mental, or emotional health.

Yes, the surgeon did both ablations during the same surgery. It was outpatient surgery and we went home soon afterwards.
