Need make-up help from the ladies

Post by meister » Wed Mar 23, 2005 10:02 am

I use the ResMed FF mask and it leaks like a sieve unless I tighten
it down extremely tight. When I wake up, I have red marks on my
face, and a divot in my nose. Also red marks on my forehead from
where the stabilizer piece touches. I am tiring of all the remarks at
work. Can someone give me guidance on skin-colored make-up
to wear which will cover up all the red spots. Thanks

Ulta Make Up!

I understand exactly what you are saying not because of the mask. For I do not have my Cpap machine until next week, but I do in addition have a autoimmune disorder that causes ugly blotching such as one gets with lupus at times, more so in the summer months. I have been using this product for the past several years and LOVE it. It is called Ulta, I think you can even purchase it on line. The better department stores in malls usually sell this product. The cover up I use is $32.00 per little jar. But you only use a little dab and it last all day long and is as light as air but truly does cover up the marks.
I hope this helps some.

Meister, you might want to try the Aura with a chin strap... If mine ever comes I will let you know how it goes.

Also, it does sound like you are not putting the mask on correctly.

First turn on your cpap, then lay down, loosen the straps so the mask is just touching your face with the forehead stabilizer all the way towards your forehead. tighten down the straps so you don't get leaks, but make sure the seal fluffs out.

IF I use the above method, I don't get as many marks, but I do occasionally get large leak indicators on my Encore Pro software...

Try YSL (Yves St. Laurent) a product called TOUCHE ECLAT. Its a pen type delivery, that is a concealer. It's the best one I have used to cover up my dark circles, sun damaged marks on my nose, etc. It's not cheap, but lasts forever. Most dept. stores have a cosmetics section, go to that YSL counter and you can get it there. Also, I ordered it off of QVC, it's cheaper, and gets shipped to your door. I can't handle those women in the dept. stores. (and I am one of them........ha).

There is also a concealer called Dermablend by corrective cosmetics that you get at a cosmetics counter in a department store...you may have to ask for it. It really works, they try and match your complexion to the correct shade. I used it after open heart surgery on my scar which was pretty bad at the time (no longer).

Good luck.
