Embeded Image question

Post by carlossm » Fri Feb 02, 2007 11:01 am

I read the FAQ and it says that in order to show images in a post you must provide a link to the picture on a public IP. I've seen posts where you click on the picture and it takes you to the site where the picture is. But I've seen other posts where a screen shot is embeddedand if you click on the screen shop, it does not take you to any site. How is this done?

TIA

You use the "Img" button, paste the link to the picture (right click on picture, pull up properties, obtain the url for the image, select copy or Ctrl +C then paste or pressure Ctrl +V between the brackets), then hit the "Img" button again.

Hey I got a buddy that lives south of Tijuana off the toll road Rt 1 right on the ocean at KM marker 21-1/2, right after the do not litter sign, he's a white haired ole gringo that hangs out at every cantina on the coast . Only thing I can remember the last time I was down there was Paco the bartender

How far are you from there?

I'm about 10 mins from "Playas De Tijuana", which is mexico ends and the USA begins. I live on the hill behind the race track. I don't go much to the area you entiond, except on wine making season. Then I drive by there every other day. I started making wine 3 years ago in the Valle De Guadalupe, which is the wine making region of Mexico. 90% of the wine that Mexico prodices, is made there.

What I'm trying to do is embed an image from my hard drive, not a URL from some public web site. Can this be done?

TIA

Log onto Photobucket - dot - com and create an account. Its good because you can then send folks links of photos rather than clog email boxes with sending files.

Hi Carlos -
Hey, I just learned how to do it myself. (Wish I would have read this thread first!) Check out my recent post called Throwing Away your Alarm Clock.

Espero que is muy facil para usted, y quisiera decirle que le vaya bien.

Oh, now I'm jeolous of the Doc and Carlos. I admire people who can speak more than one language. Makes me realize how "one way" we Americans can be sometimes - in expecting others to learn our language.

I took two years of Spanish in high school and can only remember a few words. But of course you can almost figure out how long ago that was - considering I recently mentioned my 43rd wedding anniversary. ..

Sorry, I got lead astray by my admiration here.

It's really not very hard to learn enough of a foreign language to be conversational. You just have to start somewhere. Learning tapes do just fine if you're motivated. It's how I can survive in Japanese.

Becoming fluent is a different story, but it doesn't hurt to start somewhere.

It's fun to speak spanish since people assume that I won't be able to, and oopsies...
