Your steps are correct....or at least how I do it.
I just can't read the small print and can't make it larger.
I don't have the time or energy to go to extraordinary measures to see something that I already know what I am going to see anyway. The FLs caused the pressure increase.

The machine thought the air flow was reduced by flow limitations and increased the pressure (it's what auto adjusting machines do) ....that you were awake is irrelevant because the machine can't tell if you are awake or asleep.
None of the machines/modes can tell if someone is asleep or not.

Nasal congestion can fool the machine and cause an uptake in the FL graph but if you aren't having any congestion then that excuse won't work.

i've never used that step. could that be the culprit?

I use the "large thumbnail" every time I post from imgur. I click on it and then I copy the bbc code line.
So I doubt that is the culprit.

I don't think it is an imgur issue as to why I can't see well enough. I think more likely what was done to get the screen shot like maybe pixels or something with resolution. Beyond my skill level and I am too old and too tired and too stressed to worry about it. The reason I wanted to see the numbers clearly was sometimes I can tell by the statistics about FLs if they might be an issue or not. I can see the FL graph for the time frame in question though and there is no need for me to look further. The question was "why is the pressure increasing" and the answer is the FLs that the machine is sensing.

Just a small update, progress is still good. Some things I have learned/done:

1) Switched to a Resmed P10 mask, that mask is a little more finicky than the Rio II, but more comfortable and lower AHI (not sure this is truly attributable to this mask.)

2) The issue I had with starting with higher pressure, was not due to flow limitation. Oddly enough, I found out from my dr that the AS11 will start pressure where it last ended, which made sense when I went back and looked at the OSCAR data. Not sure I like this, but I understand now and can adapt when needed. (I think as I get more used to things it will all settle down nicely and not be an issue, so far only a few times now.)

3) Upped my min pressure to be just below my average for the past month and my AHI's have remained really good.

It feels good to sleep well again, and I count me blessings to have had such a smooth, easy transition in to using a CPAP. I truly wish this for anyone starting up.

good job, you!

and also congrats on finding a doc that actually understands a cpap machine. believe, that's a rare find.

It's great to hear how well you're doing -- thanks for the update!

This is so strange: "I found out from my dr that the AS11 will start pressure where it last ended." There must be a way to turn this feature off or to over-ride it with ramp settings. Have you looked in the clinical menu?

Zonker, I was actually quite relieved. It was a video appointment, and I shared my screen with OSCAR and asked questions and she was really good at answering and showing me things that were good indicators in the data, then she shared the detailed RESMED data as well (not nearly as detailed as OSCAR but pretty useful) and gave me a few more good tips with increasing the min pressure. It was better than expected. She was the nurse practitioner for the neurology .... the neurologist I met with in my first visit was not at all interested in my data ... so happy to have gotten the NP. I guess some advantages to living close to the Cleveland Clinic :D

Yeah this was a little unexpected, but the data did support it the two times I had the issue. I have not found anything yet in the clinical settings. Fortunately, most nights, when I wake up the pressure is on the lower side and if I relax a little before taking off the mask, the pressure is nice and low.

The charts you uploaded don't show the AS11 starting where it last ended. e.g. https://sleephq.com/public/d68cffba-5f0 ... 99cbd5df49 stops at 12, starts a 6.

You other charts as well don't show that.

I was feeling like the machine was suffocating me, especially on exhale, it was resisting the out breath.

I removed the micro-particulate filter (which wasn't dirty btw), and voila, I could breathe again.

With all the computer controls and the motor, one would think that the device could check itself for this problem, but no.

Hope this helps someone else.

In order to be helpful, please specify the machine model, the filter model, and which filtering system is remaining after you removed the one filter.
