No promises...if I remember correctly Easy Breathe can be turned off on some machines in some mode but I don't remember the exact details.
Easybreathe won't have any effect unless there's a EPAP/IPAP difference, ie EPR or PS.

OP needs to figure out what he's actually got the newer machines set to, some data posted here would help.

Thanks for the response, I have tried it with Easy Breath on and off. Off is better than on but still not like my Remstar.

*Caution* controversial advice ahead

After posting some data and investigating config changes, if you are still experiencing discomfort on exhale consider the VCOM attachment.

Full disclosure, this device is controversial.

Youtuber, LankyLefty has made a few videos and claimed that it has helped him with comfort, and reduce mouth-breathing. He has been criticized heavily. One of the claims of using the device is increased EPAP. In fact it claims to increase EPAP over IPAP, which is what you are asking for.

I don't agree with using it for BiLevel, and APAP users, I also believe that it might interfere with a devices ability to measure therapy metrics such a FLs, and FOT responses. Which is why I don't think it's good for APAP users.

But accept it *might* have value for those on fixed pressure, without any kind of pressure relief. Therefore you might be a good candidate.

Keep pursuing device configuration changes. But, if that doesn't help, research the VCOM. The controversial nature of the device will generate strong responses.

Considering how simple the device is, versus how expensive,
I wonder if there is a DIY way to check the effectiveness without the monetary risk.
I understand the device is NON-RETURNABLE.
Does anyone know if this is still the case?

What are the mechanics of the Vcom increasing exhale pressure? The LL video doesn't even show how it is attached.

All the Vcom is, is a plastic piece that gets inserted into your hose. It can go inbetween the hose and mask, or between the device and the hose.

It has four holes drilled into it to reduce air-flow.

Some have commented that when attached to a top-mount mask like the DreamWear or N/P30i it's noisy. And of course if you use a heated hose you can't place it between the hose and the device.

It really is a love-hate relationship.

Those who bought it seem to absolutely love it, or absolutely hate it. Should you purchase it, check the return policy from the seller.

It might be a particular seller, but not all of them;
but we have already heard from someone who could not return the unit.
Please share, if/when you find out.

Vcom: so how would blocking off the hose diameter and drilling a few holes and restricting the amount of flow to the mask increase the exhale pressure and decrease? the inhale pressure? or relatively? Any theories???

It doesn't increase EPAP, but by restricting airflow, on a constant pressure setting, when you inhale, it prevents the machine sensing the start of the inhalation, so pressure drops on the other side of the restriction.

So what vcom claims is that 'way back in the beginning', when you'd inhale, pressure would drop, and that was "better"?.

What they don't tell the suckers buying this crap is that the reason this used to happen is because the machines were dumb and didn't have the computation and measurement capability that the machines today have to delivery precise pressure to exactly what is desired.

Time will tell.
