Leaks out of control

Unfortunately, I am very hard of hearing ... but my wife says she does not hear anything, and her hearing is very good?

My guess is you badly misplaced the humidifier on the leaky night.
You arm hand and fingers probably remember the movement you used for the A10, and (assumption) you don't have the advantage of hearing a the click when you insert the humidifier in the AS11.

Try to go about it very slowly and consciously, searching for whatever it is that will give you feedback about the correct placement.
Use the "test maskfit". And do this whole learning session when you're wide awake, i.e. not just before you're going to sleep.

My Airsense 10 no longer makes a noise as the tank is seated,
but I can feel the positional change between the tank and its top.
Alternatively, I squeeze the top and tank body together as I slide it
inside the cavity as far as it will go.
If that is any help.

Another night of large leaks ALL night. I have checked the equipment with no evidence of a leak. I started the night laying down and using the built in mask fit ... checked ok for one full minute. Began therapy. I awoke at 2:20 and before going back to sleep ... used the built in mask fit ... checked ok for one full minute.



The humidifier was fully seated. But I do not feel bad this morning but only 5:41 hr sleep time (normally it is 6-7 hr). You can see the result in the graph time over redline = 89% leak with 99.9% = 60 ... do not understand. Result ... no therapy. My wife has very acute hearing (I have profound hearing loss without HA's) but she does not hear it leaking,

What good is the built in mask test if one gets this result

The humidifier is now held in by a large rubber band ... so it should be seated. I am going to ask the DME for a new Tank to see if that makes a difference ... another hose also.

Leaks better but still above 24 l/m. I assume that the leaks at 30 dor 95% are low enough that the AHI is accurate.
I am using F20 with REmzzz liners and reduced pressure from 12-18 to 11-16, and EPR from 3 to 2. Has produced similar results for 3 nights. The rubber band on the new AS11 unit humidifier seemss to have stopped the massive all night leaks.



I would appreciate any observations/remarks.

Try cutting your pressure down. Or, changing the machine to a pure cpap mode.

Your machine may be battling those leaks in apap mode. As you have a leak, the pressure goes up to compensate, and so on.

These machines will NOT increase the pressure when faced with leaks in an attempt to bring the leaks under control.
Now flow rate may be increased but flow rate doesn't equal pressure.
Same thing would happen no matter if cpap mode or apap mode....flow rate might be increased but not the pressure.

Pressure changes (big or small) are not what is causing the really big leak seen here. I would be my last dollar that they would happen even in fixed cpap mode.

NO! THIS IS FALSE!

Machines *NEVER* raise pressure because of leaks. If the leaks are bad enough, they will LOWER pressure to try and get the mask to seat again.

Stop spreading lies.

Cannot seem to get leaks under control. Using a cpapgel product and a ruby chin strap but leaks are still all over the place.

Using stethoscope showed leaks at both corners of the mouth ... I look like "Charlie Macarthy" ... the deep creases leak.

Here the leaks seem better but just under the 24 L/m level (do not know the F20 at 12 cm/H20 planned leak rate). The 95% rate is good and even above red line good ... but just barely.



Next night same setup and extra gel at corner of mouth ... stethoscope = no leaks. but the leak rate is 33 for 95% and 66% over red line.



Perhaps the stiff hose is shoving the mask around ... will try short more flexible extender hose.

I will try the RESMED F30i, ResMed Mirage Quattro, ResMed Quattro™ FX and perhaps ResMed AirFit™ F30. I tried airtouch ... massive leaks everywhere. I am a mouth breather so nasal mask do not work.

Anyone have another mask recommendation or suggestion on the leak control
