F30i Leak at Connection? - Disregard, Answered

Post by PurpleSunday » Sat Jun 10, 2023 6:21 am

Hi all. I'm a new user and discovered this board during my miserable first week and a half with the Resmed N30 mask. Thank you for all the great info here! I finally had my first tele-health call, and was sent an F30i mask since I'm a mouth breather. What a difference! The first three nights were fantastic. But last night was rough. I got up and used the bathroom at 3:30, but when I put it back on the mask just didn't seem to seal properly. Then I noticed there was air coming out of the connection where the tube meets the headset. I tried pulling it apart and reseeding it, but it never improved. Between that and the difficulty getting the mask to sit right, I gave up and took it off in hopes of getting a little more sleep. I just did some more testing and reseeding, but it's not helping. Looking at my OSCAR data, I don't notice a huge difference with the leak at the tube connection, or is that connection not measured in the data that shows up? Is some air coming out at that connection normal and I just didn't notice the first few nights or is there something else I should do? Thanks in advance for any info and help! Here are screenshots from last night and the couple nights prior (if I'm doing this right)...

The "leak" at the connection point between the F30i and the hose is not a leak.

It's one of two venting locations. If you look at the elbow you will see the venting holes. The venting is not represented (on ResMeds) in the leak graph.

Ahhh. Yes. False alarm then. I guess I slept so well the first few nights I never noticed. Thanks for the explanation and reassurance.

I hope to try the F30i and it is good to know about the vents. I currently use the F20 and the elbow has vents but, unlike the old F10 the vents are distributed around the connection I cannot feel air exiting there.
